Alphabet books are very useful for many purposes and can be used in all content areas. Below is an alphabet book of the characters in the Harry Potter series. This could be used to meet many of the Common Core Standards for English Language Arts. Also, using characters or books that are familiar to the students can help them to make deeper and more meaningful connections when they can use prior knowledge. This ABC book can be used not only when learning about characters but also other literary elements.
